To those linux experts out there, and ubcd4win experts please tell us how to use bcdw or isolinux to help solve our problem in ubcd! I was able to boot my 4.32mb image files but from ubcd4win. It uses isolinux. I was also able to add ubcd to the ubcd4win cd, and then my larger boot disks to the plug...

I had the xdelta.exe in the same directory as all the iso files. I ran this from Win98SE, and open a DOS window. From Windows XP, <start><run>cmd then cd to the right directory Then I issued the command direct: xdelta patch ubcd401.xdelta ubcd40.iso ubcd401.iso This worked for me. However, if I have...

xdelta

Is there a way to use the delta patches when you have customized ubcd4? It seems that xdelta wants a particular size iso image before it starts. (401 --> 402). A suggestion would be to only patch directories and files that match, but leave intact the custom directories that a user might add. Thanks.

bcdw replacement

I have a number of larger images (4MB, 6MB) that I used bcdw to boot these images before, but fail with memdisk.

Is there a bcdw replacement? or options with memdisk?

Thanks

Version 3.4 and MKISOFS

Just downloaded the new version 3.4. Great work. the mkubcd.bat for creating the iso will work with version 2.01 of mkisofs but it will not work with the older version 1.14 of mkisofs. Either remove the "-joliet-long" option, or see the Customizing UBCD on the home page. Here is a link to ...

Victor,

I hope you add both the iso.bat file, and the myimages directory. I could not tell from your reply which of the two suggestions you are going to add. Thanks.

By putting the ISO.BAT file in the directory root of the UBCD, at least in windows you just need to cd \UBCD and type ISO to generate an ISO image of your custom changes.

DOS Apps

I found a difference between 3.2 and 3.3 that I hope will get changed back in 3.4: freedos.img \etc\global.set ... CDROM_NCFG=0 I have run into problems with some CD drives and the Eltorito driver (Filenames are messed up, and therefore the DOS apps don't work) and it sure would be nice to config th...

Customization Suggestions

I have two minor suggestions: Add a bat file to the root directory, iso.bat: mkisofs -N -J -r -o \ubcd.iso -b boot/loader.bin -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 . This way if some is extracting the files to create a custom cd, you don't have to keep answering the same question about creating an iso fil...
