Re: restoration help

What did you use to create the image?

Also, what are the PC specs? Is it BIOS or UEFI?

Re: MHDD.CFG Edit Not Possible VIA "edit" OR "notepad" in CLI

1. Is their a Seagate utility available to do this? I do prefer using a tool provided by the manufacturer if at all possible. 2. What are your system specs? 3. Encryption on any drive can be tricky as it's for security and doesn't always prove to be doable, in my experience. When you try to access t...

Yumi --> https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-mult ... sb-creator FTW

Makes it so much easier and you can add other distros/tools as well.

Keep safe everyone

With all the things going on right now, I hope everyone is keeping safe. I hope the world can take projects like this as an example and work together toward a final goal of helping others, many they have never even met. Allowing input from everyone in the community and discussion to determine what i...

Deja Vu all over again. Is this possibly a bot? I answered the exact same question recently in another post.

Re: How to edit registry/disable Automatic Restart on failure

Hard drives can be replaced but it could be other issues as well. With new PCs/Laptops having UEFI instead of older BIOS some diagnostic tool such as UBCD may not work. If you still have info/files on the drive you should try to get that first. If you can't get a Live/PE boot disk/USB to work you ca...

Re: How to edit registry/disable Automatic Restart on failure

The first thing I would do is get any files that are important off, if possible. Use a boot CD/DVD/USB such as https://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ubcdlive.html or any other Linux Live CD or PE (Preinstalled Environment) or even boot UBCD and select PartedMagic and try that. Next, check the drive using t...

Re: UBCD v4/v5 - developed in parallel?

Development on V4 ended some time ago and V5 has slowed over the last few years.

That being said, if you want to post updates/suggestions go for it. Just note what version is pertinent to the updates.

Re: A couple of seconds of scan my computer hangs

Are you booting UBCD, UBCD4Win or some other Live Environment or are you running these from your installed OS? What is your installed OS? What are your system specs (manufacturer/model)? What specific issue(s) are you having? A list of antivirus/antmalware boot CD/DVDs can be found here, just scroll...

Re: A tool to check

I generally run "chkdsk c: /f or /r" or if that doesn't seem to help I use Manufacturer's Diag tools to check the drive although, I do often just go straight for the Diag tools.

What are you trying to diagnose/fix? More info is always good.

Recently updated to version 1.5 as of 18/Jun/2019

https://www.plop.at/en/plopkexec/download.html

PLoP Boot Manager 5.0.15 is the latest available and is included with UBCD but has not been updated since 15/April/2013.

Check this out ---> https://www.supergrubdisk.org/super-grub2-disk/

A version is included in UBCD under HDD/Boot Management or you can download the newest version that recently came out.

You could also try PLoP, which I've also used in the past which will be in the same menu area.

What are you trying to do? A bit more info would be helpful such as what is happening that you are trying to correct, drive model, OS, etc.

If you want to run the manufacturer's diagnosis ---> Drive Fitness Test for Hitachi can be found under HDD---> Diagnosis.

Re: Adding WinPE based ISOs to UBCD

I've been using Yumi for this over the last few years. ---> https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-mult ... b-creator/

Often the ISO is extracted to the root of the drive so the boot loader works.

You can try downloading the newest version of GParted Live --> https://gparted.sourceforge.io/livecd.php

Re: New member need help

UBCD is downloaded as an ISO, you just burn the image to CD and your set. As you mention requiring WinXP, I'll assume your speaking of UBCD4Win. A section is provided for UBCD4Win but the project has been discontinued for some time. For the most part, download the UBCD4Win 3.60 file and extract, cop...

I'm kinda lost with Kernel Panic errors. What is it that your trying to do? More information would be helpful such as the MB model, what tools you tried if you got to the menu, etc. The system your trying to boot may have devices that are not supported. Are you getting the error when booting to the ...
