Would you please verify if it's the newer version of fdubcd.img that is giving you the problem? Simply create a customized version of V3.4 by copying over the older version of fdubcd.img from V3.3 and see if it works better for you.

Let me know the result if you do carry out the test.

Thanks!

Thanks! I will include the DOS stuff in the next release of UBCD.

I will also try to get Adrian to add XCPUID to his boot disk (currently contains CPU Burn-in, StressCPU and MPrime).

Both apps are already included in UBCD. TestDisk can be found in "Filesystem Tools 1/2", while Salvation can be found in "Hard Disk Tools 3/5".

It depends. If you have a lot of bandwidth to spare, I don't see why you shouldn't play around with V3.3 first. Otherwise, please wait for one to two weeks and I promise V3.4 will be released.

One of the system info utils on the UBCD might help too, like AIDA16, NSSI, PC-CONFIG or ASTRA.

So looks like the poll overwhelmingly supports continue using the new version of CDShell for the next release of UBCD.

Thanks for all who participated in the poll!

Did you get NTFS support working?

Just a quick survey to see whether the problems I am facing are machine dependent or not. I have not been able to get NTFS to work on both my home (Win2K) and work (WinXP) machine. I tried both FreeDOS + NTFSDOS, and INSERT + Captive. What is your experience?

Oh, that slipped my mind. The filenames for the floppy images need to be in 8.3 format, since long filenames are not supported at that stage.

After changing your image files to 8.3 format, it works now from the custom menu, doesn't it?

That's the reason! Your CDROM drive is not mounted at all. But what puzzles me is that A:\lib\shsucdx.cab should be available. If you have WinImage or VFD, could you check \images\freedos.img and verify that \lib\shsucdx.cab can be found within the image? Also, you can try typing "cdrom" a...
