This is partially fixed with the new version. It will now boot from USB on the W500, but it will hang if you try to run Drive Fitness Test

This is not fixed with the new release, but Hitachi has added a note that DFT doesn't work with ICH9M chipset, so it is not a UBCD problem

I have version 5.0.3. I can run Drive Fitness Test fine on a Thinkpad T61, but a W500 (one model newer) hangs when DFT is started. The W500 does run some other applications. I ran memtest86 fine. I tested both ACHI and compatibility mode and that makes no difference

DFT has the same problem that was reported several times in Version 4 discussions. It just hangs during startup.

It still doesn't work. I tried the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test and it just hangs when starting from a memory stick. The problem is described many times in the regular, version 4 forum

Is there a process to copy version 5 to a memory stick? Has the problem that caused dos applications not work in V4 been fixed?

This latest approach still doesn't allow dos applications (like drive fitmess test) to run.

Am I missing something? I created a memory stick from UBDC 4.1.1 and certain applications hang at startup. In particular, drive fitness test and Hitachi features tool. Both hang at message "starting PC Dos".
