if you don't specify 'harddisk' on the initrd line it will boot fine without the 'raw' option. It won't work under virtual pc since it checks for a dell system before it will boot.

You have to edit the BCD store to boot multiple wims.

You can get to BOOTMGR through ISOLinux/GRUB4DOS.

You could boot the Avira NTFS4DOS boot disk. There's an option there to run chkdsk. You get the equiv of a chkdsk /f. Its fixed a few machines I know of where windows wouldn't boot.

If you're revision of the Dell Diagnostics support it, you can just build the bootable hard disk image and boot it with memdisk. That way there's no floppy images involved.

You can also zip the disk images to reduce the size a little. The easiest thing to do is create the bootable image and use memdisk to boot that. Works perfectly every time. You can do the same with the Dell Server Diagnostics.

If you can, you might want to change that setting and see if it affec...

If the newer kernels are causing problems in virtual machines you can add "noreplace-paravirt" to the ISOLinux entry. If you have display issues you can also try adding the "xforcevesa" option.
