thank you for the reply though unfortunately the password comes up before the computer can boot of a cd or anything for that matter From what I have read from NET searches apparantly i have to take the cmos battery out and if that doesnt work find the pins that i have to short to get the bios reset ...

Hi I tried to boot a Acer Travelmate 650 into the Fujitsu hard drive dianostic tool and it froze.
