A quick google search says "about 30,000 hours or eight years of use at ten hours per day." for the backlight to reach 50% of original brightness. It sounds like you've babied your monitors so your's will likely stretch longer. Thanks for the info, but the topic is about burn-in. A quick ...

I would not worry about burn-in. Modern LCDs are much more resistant to this, it's not like the old rear-projection or plasma TVs. The worst that can happen is backlight or inverters wearing out, and even that is very rare as long as the manufacturer doesn't cheap out on those parts. Thanks for the...

Monitor won't turn off, no screensaver

I loaded up v5.3.5, went to the graphical environment, got partimage backing up my hard drive, and apparently the laptop screen's just been on for the last 2 hours, and has 4 hours left. I really don't want monitor burn in or any negative effects on the monitor, but I'm seeing no options to turn off...
