Yes, I tried one but don't remember which one. I finally gave up and removed the hard drive to an external enclosure and transferred data and reformatted. It worked great and was much easier than I thought it would be. At least I've found out my drive isn't toast and I know what to do next time. It ...

My Gateway AT5654 has not been able to boot to windows for 3 months. I was going to remove the hard drive to an external enclosure and try to drag and drop files I wanted to keep to another computer that is older.
