Re: UBCD V5.2.6 is available for download

You could go back to using System Rescue CD, its running about 420MB for the ISO so the size is pretty close to PartedMagic. I don't do much with Linux as far as building/programming but would be nice to keep at least something included for recovery and such. TinyCore or CorePlus looks like it may b...

Re: [Request] Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

At 317MB, that's a very large increase in the size of the disc. It wouldn't be a problem if using a DVD or USB drive but definitely would no longer fit on a CD. You could try adding it to UBCD yourself or adding to a multiboot USB or similar. I use it (Kav_rescue) on a multiboot USB drive which I cr...

Re: Windows 7 & 8

Your looking for information on UBCD4Win I believe. That can be found at www.ubcd4win.com but the forum has been down for some time now. UBCD4Win does not support Win 7 or 8 as a base but you could try one of the PE creation tools out such as winbuilder. Others will have more information on that as ...

The links are still pointing to 5.2.1. I just opened in a new tab and replaced the 1 with a 2 and downloading with no problem so far.

When I saw the b in the file name I thought maybe a new beta. You could use an "R" instead of the "B" in the naming. That would be a revision or release instead of looking like beta.

Re: UBCD V5.2.0 available for download

FUSA is directing to ubcd503.iso. I just opened the link in a new tab and changed the 503 to 520. I had tried a couple times to dlownload the Alphas/Betas but could not get a complete ISO, usually download was stopping after 50-100MB. OK, FUSA was a slow download (75-200KB/S) so moved to AusGamers (...

The ubcd511.iso file needs to be written to a CD. Not as a files but as an image. I use ImgBurn for this. --> http://www.imgburn.com/

The system booted to the menu so that's a good sign. If you navigate through the menu entries you can test various hardware items on your system such as mainboard, hard disc, etc. The real question is ---> What problem(s) are you having and are trying to fix? Please provide as much information as po...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion

So in fact, by skipping the antivirus databases in the original release of UBCD, you save time. I can only see pros, no cons. OK, point taken. Lemme think about it. I hope the others can chime in on this as well. I have liked being able to scan a system without internet access which requires having...

In the "Parted Magic" section it states "Full list of programs can be found here (link)". Of course that's the newest version of Parted Magic. Works for me as it is.

Hope I caught you before you started using DBaN... Be careful as you can wipe all your drives. I suggest disconnecting any drives that you don't want wiped.

Re: Darik's Boot & Nuke

You don't want to burn the ISO file to the CD, you want to write the image to the CD. In IMGBurn you would chose the "Write image file to disc".

default ati
label ati
kernel <path to>kernel.dat
append initrd=<path to>ramdisk.dat vga=0x314 ramdisk_size=40000 quiet

Re: LiveCDs SliTaz and SystemRescueCd onto UBCD 5.1.1 ??

Sometimes the folder location is hard coded and will only work if they are put in the same location as on the CD/DVD or at the root of the drive.

Re: iodd 2501

It appears that iodd sold the patent to Zalman for this. The first version out was the ZM-VE200 which had USB 2.0 and eSATA connectors. They have recently released a newer version which doesn't have the eSATA but has USB 3.0. Here are some links with a bit of information: Manufacturer: http://www.za...
