What seems strange though is that the Avira update will run regardless if it is up to date, but I can live with that. I can't live with that! :D Please download http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/misc/avira.sh to "c:\ubcd-extracted\ubcd\tools\linux\antivirus". What happened was there was a one-liner deb...

I'm thinking it isn't working on hardware because both MBs have an on board JMicron IDE controller. Since it's a machine-specific issue, I think the best workaround is to include the working older version of HDAT2 as a customization. What do you think? I'm fine with that :) Already had it added to ...

@kcarney: I tested HDAT2 on both VMWare and Dell D610 (from a USB memory stick), and it ran OK. Could it be a machine-specific incompatibility? Did you test it under VMWare or another machine? I tested on 2 model motherboards and QEMU, since Vmware ESXi will not share USB devices with guest OS. The...

@kcarney: Could you please download http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/misc/bin.zip , unzip to c:\ubcd-extracted\ubcd\tools\win32\unxutils\bin and try again. It contains 2 files: rm.exe and cat.exe. The missing rm.exe is a known problem (because I discovered I tested from a command prompt with rm.exe in...

Could you give me a new output capture? I made some changes to the script since then, so I am quite certain errors such as "Error: Can not create output directory \\\\boot\antivir\\" wouldn't occur now. I ran the scripts and I believe they're working. Avira was the only one to spew some output, the...

UBCD V.5.0RC2 ubcd2iso.cmd problem

Hello, I have a script that sits just outside the UBCD files directory that calls your ubcd2iso.cmd file that has stopped working as of R2. I noticed some scripting changes in ubcd2iso but I don't see how it is causing my script to fail. call files\ubcd\tools\win32\ubcd2iso\ubcd2iso.cmd files ..\..\...

There's nothing like that at all on their website, I searched for what seemed like weeks. One spot I found seemed to be what I was looking for but all it did was upload the file to them so THEY can tell me again that the file might be suspect. I'll stick with my fix of updating the astra software ov...

I got tired of this anti-virus issue so I decided to rebuild the astra.cab myself, here's how; 1) Grab the latest version of Astra from http://www.sysinfolab.com/ 2) Extract contents to a folder eg. C:\dosapps\astra 3) Find a copy of MS's cabarc.exe, it might be in a resource kit not sure EDIT: Get ...

UPX compression might not be the problem, I'm not sure if the CAB is compressed with it or the files contained in the CAB. I extracted the astra.cab on an anti-virus free machine and copied single files to a protected machine and the only file McAfee still has a problem with is the ASTRA.PRG file.

Updating pmagic to 4.8

I'm going to attempt to update the version of pmagic in UBCD5rC1 to 4.8, is there any particular recommended way to accomplish this or is it a simple extract pmagic live iso and replace existing directories in extracted UBCD iso? I'm going to find out at some point today, I'm just curious if anyone ...
