Re: UBCD V5.1 beta 1 available for download

@Icecube, thanks for the info. So, if I understand correctly, this is related to mkisofs too, not only to isolinux.bin. Is there any way to avoid this issue? I mean, if Victor (or any user customizing UBCD for that matter) could use a different tool other than mkisofs to build the UBCD ISO, will th...

Re: UBCD V5.1 beta 1 available for download

Is there any other method (or command argument or other tools) to get "the original" isolinux.bin and still have the ubcd iso correctly built? It is possible, but it is not that easy to do it manually. If you just want to check if the isolinux.bin file is from an official release, only ch...

You are mixing Syslinux syntax with grub4dos syntax.

Re: Adding ISOs to UBCD Custom areas, and booting from PXE

Look at this guide:
http://diddy.boot-land.net/grub4dos/files/pxe.htm

Assuming that Acronis can be booted with ISO emulation:

Code: Select all

map --mem (pd)/ubcd/custom/012708.iso (hd32)
map --hook
root (hd32)
chainloader (hd32)

Re: Adding ISOs to UBCD Custom areas, and booting from PXE

I noticed I can switch to GRUB but not back to ISOLINUX ISOLINUX only understands ISO filesystems. PXELINUX understands tftp (not sure if this can be chainloaded from grub4dos). ISO emulation is limited: http://syslinux.zytor.com/wiki/index.php/MEMDISK#INT_13h_access:_Not_all_images_will_boot_compl...

Re: PLEASE HELP ME VERIFY CHECKSUM AND BURN ISO IMAGE TO CD

To verify the download, check the checksum of the ISO file, not of the extracted files.
You need to burn the ISO file: ubcd503.iso

Re: Error!!! missing archive/directory (***.?)

If you are planning the BIOS, you shouldn't load any dos memory managers.
Select the "0 Boot Clean" option in the FreeDOS menu.

Copy + update FDUBCD floppy image to new clean floppy image

This tutorial is currently specific for linux, but for Windows, you only need to change some small things. I will try to add the Windows parts too, when I have the time. Download mtools compiled for Windows : http://ubcdcreator.stopspazzing.com/mtools/mtools-4.0.17-win32.7z mtools manual page: http:...

Re: UBCD V5.1 alpha 2 available for download

Another usefull command is: minfo -i fdubcd.img :: or with hexdump of the boot sector: minfo -v -i fdubcd.img :: minfo will show the Volume Label set in the boot sector only. while mlabel displays the Volume Label set in the FAT root dir. For the original FDUBCD image of UBCD v5.1 alpha 2: $ minfo -...

Set the Volume Label for the FDUBCD floppy image: The mlabel (mtools suite) command adds a volume label to a disk. Its syntax is: mlabel [-vcsn] [-N serial] drive:[new_label] Mlabel supports the following options: c Clears an existing label, without prompting the user s Shows the existing label, wit...

Re: DR-DOS version of FDUBCD

I think as702 was talking about some programs that weren't included in UBCD, but which he had on his customized version. The DR-DOS/OpenDOS Enhancement Project: http://www.drdosprojects.de/ IBM PC-DOS: Included in the "IBM ServerGuide Scripting Toolkit, DOS Edition, version 1.3.07": http:/...
