Request - Remove the boot prompt

I would like to remove the boot prompt so the CD boots to the menu automatically. How can I do this?

I would also like to see this re-added as I have a handful of images that work best with it. From looking at the differences between 3.4.4 and 4.01 I'm not fully sure where the bcdw file should go.

You could uncompress the images with WinImage and save into the IMA/IMG format.

Can we split this into a 4.0 Beta thread?

So far I'm a little bummed out that the menu system is totally different, but it that's what is needed for greater compatibility I can't object.

Is there a reason why you're using the text-based menu system instead of the graphical one?

Avira AntiVir detects BiosTool

Avira AntiVir finds the file ubcd\dosapps\xbios\bios320.exe as a "Virus or unwanted program 'APPL/BiosTool.D'".

Please note that is this not a virus, but a tool to remove BIOS passwords in DOS. It was not detected by earlier definition files.

You can edit the file menu.scn to change F1 to A (etc) as you suggest, or even change it so both F1 and A do the same action.

I liked it because it was one place to check to see if something has been confirmed as not working, but I I understand the list does require more work.

You can try "diskemu image.iso", but that only works for certain types of ISO images.
What about using BCDW to boot ISOs?

The simplest way would be to edit main.scn so all of your options are available on the first menu.

The easy answer is to copy the file to

C:\windows\system32

Only in the rarest of cases should you need to check or modify your path settings.

Dell Diagnostics v1282

Dell's 32 Bit Diagnostics v1282 are useful tools in troubleshooting Dell systems. Here's how to add it to the CD: 1) In UBCD\dosapps create a folder named Dell1282 and extract Dell's "Hard-Drive file format" download into it. ( CZ128200.exe , not cdd_1282.iso ) 2) In the Dell1282 folder c...

Baron how did you add them directly to the disk? The ISO I have does not show the files in Windows as Dell intentionally hides them, even when using WinImage or WinRAR.

I hope the UBCD stays as open as possible, so hopefully proprietary software can be avoided on the inside of the project.

Dell offers bootable ISOs troubleshooting their systems, and I can get it to work with the option boot bcdw \custom\cdd_1280.iso Edit - When I move the USB mouse at the first GUI screen of the Dell software the program crashes, but after I select the test option via the keyboard the USB works normal...

As a general rule, once you have a known bad part, you should remove/replace it before doing further troubleshooting.
