you need to go here and download the following:
msnet.cab (goes in /level0)
msclient.cab (.../lib)
mstcp.cab (.../lib)
msnwlink.cab (.../lib)
whatnic.cab (.../level0)
then download the desired network adapter plug-in(s) and place \lib\ndis.

should work then :)

Thanks a lot as702! Your method works! But when I tried to expand the 11M image, it didn't boot again! Do I need to change the c, h, s value accordingly? If you have a clue, please let me know. no worries, pal. when you say "expand" do you mean you're trying to change the image size in wi...

hmm...not sure about this since the freedos version supplied with ubcd (version 5 at least) only comes loaded with novel netware drivers(?) - you can select them by typing 'menu' at the command prompt and selecting 'novel netware client'. not sure how you'd go about setting up a share drive using no...

it may be a problem with the memory manager (himem64). i've recommended viktor updates this to a more modern build (himemx) which may correct the problem. from what i can remember, bugfix is an extremely odd program in that it dictates the installation directory be placed where the scan is intended ...

thanks for the reply, victor. i can appreciate you're busy (and yes, the UIDE modboot is now finalised and bug free - some user feedback would be appreciated). :) regarding NTFSDOS - it's strange as i've never experienced problems with it whilst using volkov (tested it on many machines). i've since ...

@cube yes, but he hadn't tried my explicit method (i had a similar problem). ;) whatever works, best of luck to him(?). Qemu sounds interesting. i'll admit, i did try it out shortly after the post (thanks for the link btw). i agree, it is rather slow and a bit more cumbersome to get up and running t...

my method's simpler by far.

btw, i've never heard of QEMU. how does it compare to VMware and VPC2007 for windows?

here's how to (and no, you don't need linux): download a bootable disk image of your desired size from here extract image using either unrar/7zip (or similar). can't remember which (might require both). use winimage to inject the files you wish to use (in this instance those from dosubcd) into the d...

some suggestions

i've only had a brief chance to look at version 5, so i'll make my comments relating to what i've discovered so far. concerning dosubcd.imz (freeDOS) image disk: 1) i honestly don't see why you've decided to replace freedos' native shell with that of 4dos; it doesn't add any practical benefit to the...

i've been in communication with eric auer over at freedos. he's managed to rattle together an updated version which addresses these problems.

both he and i have done some testing and it looks good.

Re: Please help test UBCD V5.0b1

Hi there :) - Modified Erwin's DOS boot disk and added a "Default" bootup option that will skip all config dialogs, so it will boot much faster. All dosapps are now packaged as ZIP files that are unzipped to the RAM drive before execution. When booting with that option, I've noticed an er...

How to add UDMA support for freedos using modboot

VERSION HISTORY Version 1.3 (Build080701) - Improved some detection routines; the script now scans memory to check see if the desired driver you wish to install is already loaded; if so, it will gracefully abort. Version 1.2 - Discovered a bug whereby the driver fails to load (skips) if the install...

FreeDOS and UMB: stuff aint loading as it should

hi just wondering if any astute observer can help me with this annoying niggle. i'm currently using the latest build of UBCD4.11 and /images/dosubcd.img.gz, but whenever i try and load stuff into the UMB under FreeDOS, for some reason, it fails. for instance: IFSHLP.SYS fails to load in UMB when lau...
