I would try "bcdw boot" first since it may be a little
faster; otherwise they should be the same.

Try to replace isolinux in your examples with:
"diskemu"
or
"bcdw Boot" (if running UBCD 3.3)
or
"bcdw" (if running UBCD <= 3.2)

Integrating UBCD into multiboot DVD using isolinux
You can try "isolinux /boot/loader.bin" (remove KERNEL). Don't know if it will work. I did not see any examples in the CDShell forums where someone attempted to use isolinux to boot CDShell. If that fails, post a message to CDShell forums with the title "Integrating CDshell into multi...

Integrating UBCD into multiboot DVD using isolinux
The UBCD uses CDShell as it's primary boot loader, and specifically /boot/loader.bin. This is the file you specify to mkisofs or other utils that generate an ISO. From there, CDShell can load secondary boot images using isolinux, memdisk, bcdw, etc. You didn't specify how you built the ISO, specific...

Since the system he's having trouble with was due to
an XP SP2 failure, Captive may not work. Some have
had difficulty with SP2 files in Captive.

XP Boot Registry Error
The first thing I'd try is to hit the F8 key use after POST (memory count up, system BIOS screen) so that you get to the XP boot menu. From there you should see an option such as "Last known good configuration". If that fails, follow these instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3...

How to update INSERT?
The larger INSERT contained in the UBCD Full version is a modified copy of Insert. It includes a few other programs and libraries. See http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/insert/start.html for details. Unfortunately some of the links in the "Additional Resources" section are broken, which descri...

If mkisofs isn't working for you then the boot file you're
looking for is loader.bin in the boot directory.

freedos and CD appending - please help newbie
> > > At least answer my 3rd question? Is the CD appendable - seems > as if it is not... Yes and no. In order to append to the CD it must be burned as a multisession, but I believe some (many?) systems have trouble booting from a multisession CD. I have not verified this, but I believe I've read thi...

Did you get NTFS support working?
Thanks for the post. Victor has also mentioned he had trouble and after reading the link I think I may see the problem: The post you mention talks about adding the user insert to the group captive. Try to use captive as root and see if you have different results. If you are running Captive from the ...

How can I break windows 2000 administrator password
Offline NT Password and Registry Editor is already
on the UBCD. Select F3 (Filesystem), press space bar
for next page, then F1 for "Offline NT Password..."
SCSI drivers, etc are already on the CD.
See: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
for how to use.

I might have been mixed up between your thread and another one regarding Astrumu linux. To get what you ask working using ZenWorks splash screen, you'll have to use option 1 I listed earlier in the thread. By doing this you loose the splash screen for Insert (if you're using Full). You can't have tw...

Adding Astrumi linux to UBCD??
I'm not familiar with Astrumi so am not familiar with it's boot files or configuration. Clearly it's linux, but there's more than one way to startup a linux system. I might suggest you leave a message on the CDShell forums inquiring about how to set the runlevel using the isolinux command. Note that...
