More than likely, you burned the iso file itself to the CD. This is incorrect... You need to open your burning software and point it to open the iso file that gets extracted. Your burning software will see that it is a image and then ask to burn the contents to the CD. If you pop your cd into the dr...

Not sure about the answer to your question. Though, this is the wrong forum for your question. I presume you are refering to the UBCD4Win due to your barts comment. If so, may I redirect you to ubcd4win.com and post in those forums? If not a ubcd4win question, I would still recommend that than here ...

It is located on the download page in every one of the links. You have to extract the image from the compressed archives.

A while back I had asked on that site since they are linux gurus there how to modify the syslinux stuff as there is no mention here how to do it in simple terms. They then created the guide you saw. It is a way to get it to work but not the way that this project is supposed to work. When booted off ...

What kind of Computer is it? There is a way with Dell BIOS'es that if you hit ALT-F is sets back to factory defaults. Don't know about others.

As for it reporting larger than what it is... The HD utils would not overwrite or even modify the BIOS. It is a tad odd though...

When it comes to viruses and such, I would not panic. These projects like this always will have a false psoitive now and then. If you suspect that the file may be a virus, upload it to http://virusscan.jotti.org/ and let that site scan it for viruses. It uses multiple AV engines to look at the file ...

I use UBCD4Win to do file transfers like that as it is a XP GUI that runs from CD just like this project. Only thing I use ghost for is to make and drop images to and from a machine. I don't need all the other wiz bang things that they added making it just full of bloat. As for adding it to the ISO ...

I personally use Ghost 8 as all the following version are crap as compared to that. 8 was the last version before Symantec had bought out another drive image company and there stuff was thrown in and it just buggered it all up. As for getting it to work... Have you tried using memdisk instead of BCDW?

There is nothing on the CD that will make your system do what it can't. However... With a bootable USB Stick in your USB port try to boot the system and see if there is a one time boot menu. On most systems now a days, there is boot options available to you such as like on Dell you can press F2 for ...

The only other thing would be to try the safemode and last known good configuration settings... Those are about it... It can help although a maybe easier option (and i hate to keep bringing this up but it fits perfectly for a novice) is the UBCD4Win disk. If you have another machine and your XP install disk, you can create it to give you a graphic interface instead of a DOS based interface. Either way... Your photo...

UBCD is for DOS based utilities such as diagnostic tools and other system utilities. UBCD4Win is a live disk that boots a Mini XP environment. UBCD can read but not alter NTFS partitions of which XP is on. NTFS4Dos can if you buy it and put it on. The free version can only read the disk. I personall...

Basically the issue is this, you are not allowed to redistribute but certain apps from MS and even then it is very few. Distributing the install file for any MS OS is illegal whether or not it includes a key or a COA or anything. It is flat out not allowed by MS.

I would suggest phrasing your question in the UBCD4Win.com forums. These forums here are for the UBCD and not for the UBCD4Win. Although UBCD can be included in UBCD4Win, they are 2 seperate projects for the same goal through differant methods. UBCD for a DOS command line. UBCD4Win more for GUI base...

As for slowing down UBCD for browsing the apps and launching utils, no. If you are talking about insert itself and speeds int it, I can't answer that as it is all subjective. Hope this helps!

One thing you can try is to do a registry clean while in safemode. That may help in reducing the size of the hive. There maybe alot of old stuff sstill caked in there that hasn't been flushed or removed and just needs a good cleaning. This info is based off of your comment about the hive being to la...
