Converting a two disk program into one 2.88MB image is easy, as in the example of Drive Image 5.0. Usually, there is a line in AutoExec.bat that pauses and asks for the second disk. For more disks, you may want to create a bootable floppy with CD access which then starts the program off the CD. Many...

As a general rule I make images of the original floppies at the start in case a modification I do is incorrect.

I have not tested your suggestion, but try it and let us know if it works.

More likely than not you have bad sectors and should use the Windows Recovery Console (accessed by booting off your Windows CD) and typing in chkdsk /r to run Checkdisk with bad sector scan. If that completes but you still are having the issue try booting NTFS4DOS Free Edition (Filesystem Tools 2/2)...

This may have to do with a change to the options to boot from the first and second hard disk.

Try dropping to the console and typing in
boot 0x80
and let us know if that works.

I don't have a SCSI machine assembled to test this idea out at the moment.

In earlier versions of UBCD I have had issues with SeaTools dropping to a DOS prompt for no appearant reason, but have not had problems with the newest version so far. (I've not used it enough to judge)

Unfortunately Windows 2000 and XP need to have the same hard disk channel driver (SCSI or IDE or SATA) to move a drive from system to sysetm. I don't think it was an anti-piracy measure but a holdover from NT4. One possible way to do it is to switch the hard disk controller to the default MS driver ...

I've not had problems with it. Usually when an image doesn't load the disc is dirty / scratched or the system RAM is bad.

Drive Image 5.0

PowerQuest Drive Image 5.0 was the standard imaging software at the company I now work for, so I've added it to my customized version of UBCD. To make the floppies you don't need to install the program, the CD will allow you to make the floppies straight from it. Here's how to add it to the CD: 1) M...

Has anyone tried integrating WinPE or programs based off it (Ghost 9/10)?

I strongly recommend it for cloning a disk with significant bad sectors to a new disk. The free version is limited (PIO last time I looked) but works!

It sounds like either bad memory or a bad video card. Try one of the other memory tests or go to Memtest.org and download the floppy version and try that. Remember to change your boot order to boot off the floppy. http://www.memtest.org/download/1.65/memtest86+-1.65.floppy.zip will create the floppy...

Try booting MemTest+ in the Motherboard menu, if that won't boot you may have bad memory. Alternatively, re-burn the CD at a lower speed.

So you have the x86 version of XP installed?

I'm not sure otherwise why it won't boot. Did you try a different optical drive? That would be my last guess on this.
