Re: How to Copy Directories to USB using UBCD
You can also try to boot to Parted Magic first. When Parted Magic is fully booted, insert your USB stick.
Then run the following command:
It should show some USB related messages, if your USB stick is recognized.
Then run the following command:
Code: Select all
dmesg | tail -n20

Re: read/write to NTFS
Most of those tools that can read and/or write from/to NTFS are quite buggy.
Using a linux distro with ntfs-3g support (almost every distro has it), is the best way to access (read/write) NTFS filesystems.
You can use Parted Magic (included in UBCD) to do that.

Re: Ultimate Boot CD V5.0.3 and Win7 booting ***Need Help***
The site has a lot of information that to some of us is very confusing and nonspecific to our needs. For example, I am used to the nice user friendly version of 3.? for XP but when I downloaded the 5.0? to use with Win 7 it comes up like dos or linux commands and it's very user unfriendly. Please r...

Re: UBCD ID'd as a Virus
Always check if the MD5sum or SHA1 sum of the ISO match with the value on the UBCD site. Some programs inside UBCD are detected as "virusses" because they do things that you normally don't want to see: like resetting BIOS paswords, ... Can you tell which files on UBCD where detected by Avi...

Re: Hash Difference when downloading from My
It can also mean that your download is corrupted. You can try to redownload the file from the same mirror or a different one. You can also download the torrent file and let it use the already downloaded ISO. By this way the ISO is automatically checked and only the corrupt parts, need to be redownlo...

Re: On boot menu when you click boot next device error
It is annoying that you only put that valuable piece of information (click on "boot next device") in the title and not in the body of your post. I didn't saw it an was thinking about a corrupt iso. Boot Next Device is not always implemented by the BIOS. You can use the following from the b...

Re: ubcd issue v 503
If you need Parted Magic, it might be a good idea to just download the last version.
You can install it to an UFD with unetbootin too, if you don't want to burn a CD.

A little bit more info would be nice:
- Which version of UBCD?
- Original ISO, customised ISO, installed on USB
Also type the full output you see before that line.
