The first thing that comes to mind is Is really F: where your usb key is? Yes of course ;) But my key seems to be a little bit special. In fact, this key is recognized by the explorer as two drives : a floppy disk drive 1.44 mb and a "normal" USB key. I try to understand why this key is l...

According to the guys at makebootfat, by using the -Y option you overcome the 1GB limitation: Enforce the syslinux 3.xx FAT support. Syslinux 3.00 supports all the FAT types and sizes but it requires a special customisation of the boot sector and of the file `ldlinux.sys'. This option does this cus...

Thanks Erwin, that's clear and I should be able to do it now   What I'm looking to do first, is how to partition my 2 GB key with 200 MB for UBCD. And one more point, by the way... I managed to include two Acronis software in my UBCD : TrueImage and DiskDirector. Would it be difficult to ...

Thank you Erwin for helping newbies like me. I just have to understand now what does mean Just unzip to a new directory. Then go to that directory and run 'ubcd2usb <path-to-ubcd> <usb-drive>' :? This may be very clear for knowledge people, but I'm not sure of the exact way of doing this. And...

Maybe there is a way to create more than one partition in the USB key if it is larger than 1 GB... Yep, it's what I was thinking about  And by the way, do you think it would be possible to improve (and be easiest) the way of proceeding to get a UBUSB-Key (a new procedure like Victor says abov...

I actually tested it with a Flash Drive, aka USB key (a Cruzer Micro 256MB, to be specific). I also did some minor testing with a Compact Flash connected to a card reader. So I guess anything under 1GB connected to an USB port should work. Syslinux has the limitation of the 1GB limit. I also think ...

Ok I think I am ready to explain how to create the Ultimate UBCD on a USB drive... As I was reading your post once again, I realized that you were talking about USB Drive , as I did that poll about USB keys. So if you're really talking about an USB Hard Disk Drive, is it the same way of proceeding ...

Ok I think I am ready to explain how to create the Ultimate UBCD on a USB drive, despite the lack of interest in the poll (there are only 5 votes). Still, this thread seems to have quite a few views... [...] I hope somebody finds this useful. Of course we do :D Thank you so much reblu (and NwDsk) f...

This stuff is currently out of my league. If I had a clue on how to proceed, I would have posted some leads long ago. Sorry for my question Victor :? I asked it because things seem to be quite easy to dhscholtus, and I thought you could understand what he said and gives you an idea of how t...

Yes you're certainly right dhscholtus, but I don't know how to proceed...

Victor, do you think it's possible ?
Would it be difficult to give some explanation of how to do it ?

Well, I was not talking about "boot" as a file but as directory which is at the root of the CD, like "images" for instance. For DDS, my mistake was just a "keyboard mistake" So now, everything seems to run smoothly... until I change something else  Th...

Ok, that was my mistake : "Boot" is a command and not the directory.

But, that's funny because it works fine with TI and not with DDS. The Menu screen comes back after 1 or 2 seconds of black screen, when choosing "d" (in my case)

I maybe have an answer to this problem.

The word "Boot" in your excerpt may be a part of the command, and not the directory of UBCD.

I'll try with Boot kept before /images/Outils_Acronis/trueimg.iso

Am I right ?

Yes I'm running UBCD 3.3. For example, this is what there's in hdd.scn # # Actions # getkey clear if ($lastKey == key[f1]); then memdisk /images/maxblast.igz if ($lastKey == key[f2]); then memdisk /images/diskmgr.igz if ($lastKey == key[f3]); then memdisk /images/discwiz.igz if ($lastKey == key[f4])...

Hello Charles... again... I wrote something like your if ($lastKey == key[a]); then bcdw Boot /cba/trueimg.iso if ($lastKey == key[d]); then bcdw Boot /cba/diskdir.iso in my custom.scn. Things seem to go fine, but I've an "Invalid bcdw command". I saw in other .scn that usually, it is &quo...
