Now I have these in my todo list. Convert build scripts into makefiles. Re: Explorer's modification of CPUstress image

Just a note to Victor, the CPU Burn-in website has been move to here: http://cpuburnin.com/ So you might update the URL on the UBCD homepage. You can use the same name. Thank you! Because now CPUstress doesn't use a filesystem image anymore as initial ramdisk (now: initramfs = cpio archive), we don'...

Re: Prime95

What settings are used in the UBCD version? Is it Small FFT, Large FFT or Blend? The Prime95 in UBCD is run with the default setting. That is, Blend. If you want to configure Prime95 before you start, you can run this in your command line: /opt/mprime/mprime27 -m -w/tmp/torture-test The mprime wrap...

Re: Launching applications...

If you refer to this Double Driver (http://www.boozet.org/dd.htm), then no. UBCD will never have such Windows-only tools.

Perhaps you should get UBCD for Windows instead? (http://www.ubcd4win.com/index.htm)

My code is a really conservative example, based on the 'diff' between the old and new config files. You are free to edit on your own, without notifying me about that.

Re: All CPU tests Lose USB Keyboard control

@ Explorer09 , As I mentioned before, also PMagic's kernel had some issues with USB devices, even after the current latest stable release (2013_02_28). That's why I suggested trying (for CPUStress) PMagic's kernel of the latest testing version(s). The sources are also found in the same place. @ady,...

Re: pm2ubcd script discussion

The new pm2ubcd script should not copy the root directory of " pmagic-extracted/ ", so mkgriso is not copied/moved to " ubcd-extracted/ ". The conditions I mentioned above are "minimal", so one optional additional final step could be to delete " pmagic-extracted &...

Re: pm2ubcd script discussion

Here are two things that you might need to add to the script: 1. Remove "pmagic-extracted/mkgriso" script. It's useless in UBCD. 2. Edit "ubcd-extracted/ubcd/menus/syslinux/main.cfg" to update the menu entry. Replace: MENU LABEL Parted Magic 2013_01_29_i586 - Press F1 for more in...

Re: All CPU tests Lose USB Keyboard control

I copied those 2 files into the specified folder on my ubcd usb drive and followed your instructions during boot. Unfortunately my usb keyboard still didn't work. However, it did properly detect that the computer has 4 cpus instead of the 1 that is detected by the unmodified ubcd 5.2.1. Hi bob3248,...

@ady:
I would prefer good out-of-the-box support in the kernel. I will try to compile one on my own.
The other 3 PMagic kernels will be left for customization.

Re: Cpustress - incorrect detection of cpus and keyboard pro

I was the one that reminded Victor that the standard PMagic dual 32/64 bits requires so many resources that it can't boot in some systems (like some Celeron ones that don't support PAE, for example). Also the necessary amount of RAM (and storage space) for PMagic keeps rapidly increasing too, but t...

Hello Older, bob3248 and those who have a USB keyboard, I have prepared a image for you to test if the bug still exists or not. Re: Cpustress - incorrect detection of cpus and keyboard pro

I actually found where the problem is, and I think Ady and Victor should be responsible to this. The i586-compatible kernel from PMagic does not support SMP. Therefore when I boot from that kernel only one CPU core can be used. I don't know whether that improves hardware compatibility or not, but I'...

Re: All CPU tests Lose USB Keyboard control

UBCD 5.1.1 version of the CPUstress suffers from this bug so you can't even boot from there. By the way, I am trying to find out whether I need to put some kernel modules to the CPUstress image, and I need some help. If anyone can demonstrate that -- given the same linux kernel and the same USB keyb...
