Re: GUI interface for adding images to UBCD
Any plans on a Mac OS or Linux utility? To make it universal.

Can you specify all the utilities that produce this error? It would help out.

Specifically what problems are you having?
I would test the power supply first before you believe the MOBO is the problems as if you are getting unstable voltages could make random things happen.

Interesting link there for all the drive diagnostics (most already included with newer versions). And yes, jptech is correct should be Fujitsu labeled.

Re: Trying to reformat & re-partition drive
well if you aren't afraid to lose data you can always just reformat the partition, that should fix it if all u messed up was partitioning This post was placed over 5 months ago. Very unlikely that the original poster is around. To answer tho, I would just reinstall with the XP discs after backing u...

Re: BSOD after software/hardWare Change
Even if it is out of warranty you could call Sony and request a repair DVD. Tell them what happened and with a little luck and being nice...can get it for cheap or free (no guarantee). Asking for a Vista repair disk is your best bet. When it comes to OEM/manufacturer's computer, you can request a co...

Did you by any chance have the laptop plugged into a surge protector? >>> http://bit.ly/f8LIwW Not a power strip, which tends to be thinner. It would also say surge protector on it. I have a feeling that there could of been a power surge or voltage spike that caused the HDD to fail and corrupt windo...

Re: USB Stick does not boot under Windows 7
As I have mentioned before, most if not all recent computers build in past 6-7 years have the option to force boot a device. Try finding that key by using google or by pressing different keys (f1-12 or del or end) and see if it gives you the option to boot from USB. This is typically the easiest way...

Re: USB booting once more time...
You can typically force boot a option, depending on your system ofcourse. Such as my asus board, f12 will give me boot options and then I select USB device. But that would mean your bios would have to support USB booting, and you may have to enable it in BIOS.

Re: Help with reclaiming disk space and partitions
My humble conclusion (so I won't make it more technical than I already did); you can trust StopSpazzing's test and results, but if you can, try to use the "correct" recovery console (in case MS had changed something that could be potentially incompatible to your particular system). Well t...

Re: Help with reclaiming disk space and partitions
@ady Those instructions in the link I provided work fine with any version of Windows XP (didn't try x64) for recovery console running from CD no matter what version of Windows XP you have. Tested and confirmed with VirtualBox. Im guessing those requirements only apply to installation of Recovery Con...

Re: Help with reclaiming disk space and partitions
BTW, the XP recovery console version should be (or at least, is desirable to be) the same version of the installed XP. I mentioned this before in a previous post (related to SP's installed), but is also related to XP Home version, or XP Pro version (the boot disks for Home and Pro are not exactly t...
