Updating UBCD to the NEW Parted Magic

I read this http://wiki.ultimatebootcd.com/index.ph ... rted_Magic. It did not work. I also looked the new Parted Magic, there is no initramfs anymore. Parted Magic now uses initrd.img. The naming of it has changed also. How would you update to the new Parted Magic with the changes Parted Magic has made?

PartedMagic changed several things after its v6.7. UBCD needs to change several little things so to make it easy to update PartedMagic. Meaning, changing the boot menu would not be enough.

So my suggestion for you would be, in the meantime, to use SARDU, which is able to combine both UBCD and the latest PartedMagic, even retaining the extra modules. SARDU will build either a new ISO image or a new UFD.

Let us now if that solves your needs.

Thank you. I have played around with programs like SARDU but I am new to this. Is there a program like SARDU that will run in Linux and Windows?

Why would you need it to run under both OS? There are such tools, but that's not the main issue of this topic. Any such tool under Windows will let you build also your Linux OS media.

Download the latest SARDU, the latest UBCD and the latest PartedMagic. Expand the zip of SARDU and place UBCD*.ISO and PMAGIC*.ISO inside the ISO folder of the now-expanded SARDU tree.

Only now start SARDU. It will recognize UBCD and PartedMagic. Build a new ISO. Walla! :)
