UBCD 5.2.9 Parted Magic Virus Scanner - Resolve ASAP Please

Hello, I hope I posting in the right section.

Here is the issue:

I am trying to run Virus Scanner in Parted Magic on UBCD 5.2.9.

I have the Internal HDD mounted to the system(verified via Command Line).

When I open Virus Scanner and select "A Device" I get the error:

"No devices were found.
If you have connected a device, you may need to mount it first."

I am actually able to see with the PArted Magic Mount that the drives are mounted, and I can access the files within.

I need to scan the 2 HDD for viruses immediately, since the OS is corrupted to where it cannot run its own security. I also need this resolved ASAP.

Also when I run "clamscan /dev/sda1" via terminal I get the error:
"WARNING: /dev/sda1: Not supported file type"

Same for:
"WARNING: /dev/sdb1: Not supported file type"

Both drives are NTFS.

I also getting errors that my VIrus Scanner GUI and Virus Definitions has updates, but cannot find how/where to update them at.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The version of PartedMagic included in UBCD 5.2.9 is not the latest one available.

Currently, PartedMagic is still GPL, but it is not free (it costs just a few dollars). If you want the latest version of PartedMagic, go to its web page.

There are other methods to scan for malware offline. Several vendors provide ISO images ("LiveCD" or "LiveUSB") for free, and several "Live" Linux distributions include ClamAV. You might want to try, for example, SysRescueCD (among others). Note that some "Live" systems might be less user-friendly than others.
