Ultimate Boot CD

I'm doing some dry-runs and experimentation using a VM before applying to the real machine. VMWare Workstation 11, when set to UEFI Firmware, does not boot the CD. I'm guessing that the implementation doesn't have a fall-back to legacy CD booting.

Is there a way to get UBCD, or a USB image, to boot by adding the right file somewhere where expected under the 'boot' subdirectory?
