I have a specific need for flashdrive support with FreeDOS and so far it looks like UBCD is the easiest solution. I have tried to follow the steps in this link for UBCD v4 https://www.ultimatebootcd.com/forums/v ... php?t=1327 but so far have not been able to get it to work. Here is the paste of the walkthru with my questions in bold:
- decompress the UBCD iso file with 7zip
- create a FAT32 primary partition with your favorite partition tool manager
- download syslinux software:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/
- decompress the syslinux archive, and copy the file "syslinux.exe" from the "win32" directory to your work directory
- open a command line from your work directory and type:
"syslinux.exe -maf X:" where "X:" is the letter of your boot partition for UBCD
here is where I get lost. Can I do this on a windows machine? or does it need to be done on the machine I want to make bootable with UBCD? And please elaborate what is meant by letter of boot partition for UBCD. So far the things I have tried have not worked.
- copy all files from the "syslinux" directory ( except the "ldlinux.sys" file) of your UBCD files to the root of the boot partition
- copy all files and directories of UBCD to the boot partition
-----------
If I could get very clear and concise instruction on the entire process, I would appreciate it.

Re: How to install UBCD to hard drive
Have you tried the script in "ubcd/tools/win32/ubcd2usb/ubcd2usb.cmd"?
