HDD Secure Erase Doesn't Do Anything

Hi. Can somebody help me with HDD Secure Erase? I made a bootable USB flash drive and can boot into UBCD with no trouble. I select Hard Disk Wiping/HDDErase, and the program starts. It takes me through the disclaimers and scare screens and I tell it "y" each time. It then presents me with a screen that reads
, with a flashing cursor. Then nothing happens for over ten minutes. The computer doesn't respond to the keyboard. I can't quit the program except by turning the computer off with the power button. When I do that and restart, the computer boots up normally.
Should I wait longer for HDD Secure Erase to do something? Or should it give me a menu to choose what HDD I want to erase? Or what?
