Caldera open DOS???

#1 Post by m2c » Sun Oct 17, 2010 4:32 pm

I have 1 hard drive in my computer and I wanted to reformat another one that was corrupt so I could put it into my computer but when I rewired the hard drive so that they were both connected it booted (even when i had boot from CD selected) into something called caldera instead of UBCD.
What is this? I don't understand any of the commands! Please help!

I was able to use UBCD before i had the 2nd hard drive connected.

I've tried it with only the corrupt hard drive and also with only the main hard drive connected and it still boots into caldera when i select the CD-drive.
Now i'm really confused. Any help would be appreciated.

If the original HDD was fine, and was booting into an OS before, then recheck the master/slave connections; boot into the BIOS; check the BIOS recognizes the HDD and that all options/settings are correct.

Don't put any CD/DVD in your system, and check in the BIOS that the boot order is the one you want. Also, do not connect the faulty HDD in the meantime.

You should boot into your previous OS.

I hope this helps.

Report back and we'll see how to move on from that point.
