Ultimate Boot CD V5.0.3 and Win7 booting ***Need Help***

#1 Post by kboot » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:06 pm

Hello,

I just purchased Win 7 and am trying to load it on an older MSI P4 machine. I am trying to follow this guide: http://www.hitechsquad.com/2009/10/26/w ... -solution/

I downloaded the Ultimate Boot CD V5.0.3 and burned it to a cd. When I boot up my machine, I do not see the Filesystem Tools->Boot Managers->Smart BootManager options to then boot my WIN 7 OS. The Disk boots but I see no options relating to this. Only BIOS, CPU, Memory and etc.

Anyone have some help for me.

Thanks

You know, if you are going to request for help, you need to do YOUR part. Searching and reading the relevant info is always a "must", even when requesting for help.

First, you need that procedure you pointed to, ONLY if you have that specific problem / error.

Second, if only you just "navigate" UBCD, you would have found the path to Smart Boot Manager.

Third, even before downloading UBCD, if you would have read the comments in that same page you pointed to, you would had found:
The newer UBCD has a different menu. Look under HDD to find Smart Boot Manager…then follow the directions as posted in the article.
which is the path to Smart Boot Manager in UBCD 5.0.3.

You are always welcome to ask, but please be sure you are willing to do your part :) .

User ady, I think you are quite severe with the user who needed help. I'm sorry, you may be this wonderful techie genius but please take in consideration that not all of us are at the same level as you. I believe and feel that you should show some sympathy and consideration for those of us that do not have time to read all UB4Win cd info on their site. The site has a lot of information that to some of us is very confusing and nonspecific to our needs. For example, I am used to the nice user friendly version of 3.? for XP but when I downloaded the 5.0? to use with Win 7 it comes up like dos or linux commands and it's very user unfriendly. I guess I have to sit down and play with it unless you, mr techie genius can help me with that!? nanc
