Thinkpad W500 cannot run Drive Fitness Test

I have version 5.0.3. I can run Drive Fitness Test fine on a Thinkpad T61, but a W500 (one model newer) hangs when DFT is started. The W500 does run some other applications. I ran memtest86 fine. I tested both ACHI and compatibility mode and that makes no difference

If the latest alpha/beta/RC version of UBCD doesn't resolve the problem, then you need to find the correct tools for your specific model at the manufacturer's website.

This is not fixed with the new release, but Hitachi has added a note that DFT doesn't work with ICH9M chipset, so it is not a UBCD problem

you need to find the correct tools for your specific model at the manufacturer's website.
