I'm trying to get PEM up to use ddrescue on a drive, and no matter which of its boot options I select, it hangs during boot.
Sometimes, it's just after "Installing packages...", with no indications of actual package installation; sometimes, it shows me that it's installing the 6 or 7 packages that generally show up there (complaining all the while that they weren't made with makepkg :-), and then hangs right after that.
When I run the boot in verbose mode, it seems to be successfully getting by it's addressing of the troublesome HDD, so I don't think that's the issue.
New Core2Duo E7500 on a new Gigabyte G41M mobo, 2GB RAM, 40/1000/1000 GB Seagates on SATA; one of the 1T's is the problem drive.
Any suggestions as to what might make PEM not want to boot?
Can ddrescue be accessed any other way on 5.0.1?
