I'm not saying that there is no way to resolve this issue (it may depend not only on UBCD boot modes, but also on BIOS configuration), but maybe there is, in the meantime, an effective workaround.
The tools that you mentioned are targeted at System Information, but they are a little bit old for the specific systems you mentioned. So even if someone could find a way to solve the boot problem, it wouldn't give you a
complete System Information report.
So, maybe an effective workaround for you could be to try Hardware Detection Tool (HDT), also included in UBCD (and again under the PartedMagic boot menu), which could be used for almost (if not exactly) the same purpose that those mentioned tools.
