What tool do I use to access the hard drive?

#1 Post by boothar1 » Fri Jul 20, 2007 12:00 am

I recently ran into a "Code Purple" problem on my Compaq. After doing some research, it seems that UBCD could fix my problem. I have downloaded the cd and it seems to be working fine when I boot with it, but I have NO IDEA what I'm doing.

What I do know is that I need to access the hard drive and empty a file called cfgchk.bat. Unfortunately, I don't know which tools to use on the UBCD.

Could someone PLEASE walk me through this process?

It's under:

- Filesystem Tools
- NTFS Tools
- Avira NTFS4DOS Personal V1.9

It allows read/write access to NTFS filesystems.

Hello,

I have the same problem, and I went through these steps and got to Avira, but what do I do next to get to C:\hp\bin\ConfigCheck\cfgchk.bat?

Thanks for your help.

Once you get to the DOS prompt, something along the lines of:

Code: Select all

c:
cd \hp\bin\ConfigCheck
edit cfgchk.bat
