Combining UBCD4Win with UBCD in Windows

I already had directories set up to make UBCD, and I made a separate UBCD4Win iso. When I combined them according to the instructions on the UBCD web site (modified for Windows), mkisofs failed because it didn't recognise the necessary -joliet-long parameter.

The fix was as simple as getting a more recent mkisofs.exe. I used the one from http://smithii.com/?q=node/view/9, but I think the one in Bart's PEBuilder (as used for UBCD4Win) is similar but doesn't need cygwin1.dll.

Perhaps the download links for cdrtools on the UBCD site should be updated to point at a more modern version.

Thanks! I will update the UBCD website.

Could you point me to the instructions that combines UBCD and UBCD/Win?
I would like to add it to the list of useful links.

LOL! I used the link on your website! The modifications for Windows I did in my head:

If you have already made a custom UBCD and built UBCD4Win, you have all the files but one on your disk already. Just copy all the files and directories in the BartPE subdirectory of your UBCD4Win build, except autorun.inf and bootsect.bin, into the directory containing your UBCD file structure; add w2ksect.bin from the file referenced in the Linux instructions, add the suggested command ("isolinux /w2ksect.bin") to a suitable menu, and burn with the added -joliet-long parameter (using the more recent mkisofs that recognises it!).

The result fits happily on one CD (with the addition, in my case, of the Acronis products, Partition Magic, and DFSee*), but as the projects grow, it might be nice if someone kept an eye on the size of the combination...

* DFSee is a very powerful shareware disk editor. It has especially complete and up-to-date OS/2 facilities including understanding JFS and LVM (like Partition Magic years ago it started as an OS/2 tool) as well as Windows and some Linux (Ext2/3 and Reiser) compatibility.

We also have instructions posted in the forum for UBCD4Win. If you would like to add a link to that on your site Victor, that would be great.

@pwhodges - please check it out also. If you have any notes, tips, etc. please post in the forum and let us know. We always appreciate help!!

OK, I will add this to the list of links in the "Customizing UBCD" section.
