HDD Copy without partition

#1 Post by GilbetAmp » Fri Feb 01, 2008 3:51 pm

Hi, I've got a system which is quite old but I've been adding bits to it for quite some time. My primary drive is smaller than the other drives I've instaled since and I would like to copy my OS to a larger drive and use the smaller drive for collecting clutter. I've not used UBCD before, so I'm a bit overwhelmed by the choice available.
It seems when I copy one disk to the other it also copies the partition, so basicaly my larger drive becomes partitioned to the same size as the source, which isn't really any different to begin with.
Is there anyway I can get round this?
Any help would be appreiciated.
Thanks

If one of the drives in your system are a Maxtor or Seagate you can use MaxBlast 5, which uses Acronic True Image 10 and can move a smaller partition to a larger one. If you don't have any Seagate or Maxtor drives you can use Paragon Hard Disk Manager, which can do the same. You can find Paragon Hard Disk Manager for free (if it's still available) at Vunet.com..

Here is the link I used to get it a while back...

Thanks Piney,
I'm copying to a Maxtor and (I think) from a Seagate.
I'll post with how I get on later.
