how to run/install USB-Harddrive running UltimateBoot XP????

how to run/install USB-Harddrive running UltimateBoot XP????

hi,

i'm trying to fix my XP-System with Ultimate Boot XP from CD

actually i'm trying to save my data on an external harddrive but it doesn't work...

when i plug it on the usb port after booting UBXP nothing happens, when i'm trying "force install USB" or "install devices" system is freezed and i have to reboot...same happens when i plug it on the usb port before booting with UBXP...

anybody? thanks...

Which version of UBCD4Win did you try that with ?
There's a new version 3.12 out. Anyway, I guess you should look for support at their own forums ( http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/ ), you'd probably get faster answers

yes you might be right about the ub4win forum, i didn't realize UB4win is a different case...

Well that's strange, a colleague I have at work used UBCD4Win v 3.10 to backup stuff from his machine onto a USB key a few weeks ago, there was no problem... are you sure this usb hdd isn't faulty ?
