just wondering if any astute observer can help me with this annoying niggle.

i'm currently using the latest build of UBCD4.11 and /images/dosubcd.img.gz, but whenever i try and load stuff into the UMB under FreeDOS, for some reason, it fails. for instance:

IFSHLP.SYS fails to load in UMB when launching from /bin (uses devload.bat to call device /H). When i modify the config.sys file to include
it loads into UMB just fine.

Also, when trying to move the shell into UMB, it also refuses to budge
any ideas?[/code]

i've been in communication with eric auer over at freedos. he's managed to rattle together an updated version which addresses these problems.

both he and i have done some testing and it looks good.

If you give me a day or 2, i'm planning on releasing an updated version of NwDsk (FreeDOS boot image) crammed with MANY fixes/updates etc. I'll send you a PM once it's up to allow people to give it a go (i would have released it sooner were it not for compatibility testing).
