file software deletion
hi is there any way by using UBCD i can delete software that i think may be causing me my bootproblems, i dont have any xp discs or bootdiscs i can browse the file/software in question by using testdisc browse facility it is on my C:HDD but not sure how to delete or gain other forms of access to my c drive cheers ta
you could use parted magic(?) to access the partition from within linux. i've used DSL linux to access/modify NTFS volumes in the past. To my knowledge, DOS based NTFS drivers are hit and miss, but you could try using NTFS4DOS (read/write ability).
However, even if you were to delete the suspect files/directories, the program has most likely latched to the windows registry hive and/or installed additional files within the windows system folder that you may not be aware of (i.e. simply deleting the files itself may not be sufficient to entirely remove a program).
