I'm having the exact same problem. And from the Candela Dr-DOS environment I can navigate to I386/winnt which (what I've recently learned) should execute the installation process, but it only results in a blue screen telling me that "An internal setup has occured, could not find a place for a swap file. Setup cannot continue. Press ENTER to exit."

In more detail; I'm trying to install winXP Pro on a Dell Latitude D830. The OS is on a recently burned bootable DVD, burned using the DVD-ROM (boot) option in Nero 8. The only options I edited was "Kind of emulation: No emulation" instead of "Floppy Emulation 1.44MB", and I set Number of loaded sectors to 4 instead of 1.

Use a slipstreaming software to build the cd for xp. And set it to build it as bootable disc.
