Cannot start any application

Hi, Best regards to all as it is my first post here.
I just burn UBCD 4.1.1. It boots nicely, menu appears and after I try to start any application on it (eg. PC-config or Aida or anything else) I see:
loading memdisk
loading images/dosubcd.igz................................. (it disappear pretty fast, but I hope I wrote it correctly) and then
full screen of color rectangels with ANSII characters scrolls down. Hitting any key stops scrolling, but rectangels stay blinking. And thats it, I can only reboot.
Anybody knows what should I do?

Idk im spitting this out here but did you check to make sure the cd was "verified" or matched the iso that was on your hd? Possibly corruption/ or didnt burn right? I hope you use rewritables to test...or virtual machine software before actually burning to cd.

Not really. It works without any problem on the machine it was indented to use (Dell Optiplex GX150), but not on this computer (see signature above).
It must be software-hardware incompatibility.

Update the freedos image and see if it's help.

Extract ubcd.iso to c:\ubcd-extract\:
Copy the dosubcd.igz file to c:\ubcd-extract\images\:

Also update the syslinux files.

Download syslinux from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/.

Extract the syslinux archive to "c:\syslinux\".

To update isolinux for the CD version
- Copy "c:\syslinux\core\isolinux.bin" to "c:\ubcd-extract\isolinux\".
- Copy "c:\syslinux\com32\menu\menu.c32" to "c:\ubcd-extract\isolinux\".
- Copy "c:\syslinux\com32\modules\chain.c32" to "c:\ubcd-extract\isolinux\"
- Copy "c:\syslinux\memdisk\memdisk" to "c:\ubcd-extract\isolinux\"

To update syslinux for the bootable USB key
- Copy "c:\syslinux\core\ldlinux.sys" to "c:\ubcd-extract\syslinux\".
- Copy "c:\syslinux\mbr\mbr.bin" and "c:\syslinux\ldloader.bss" to "c:\ubcd-extract\tools\ubcd2usb\".
- Copy "c:\syslinux\com32\menu\menu.c32" to "c:\ubcd-extract\syslinux\"
- Copy "c:\syslinux\com32\modules\chain.c32" to "c:\ubcd-extract\syslinux\"
- Copy "c:\syslinux\memdisk\memdisk" to "c:\ubcd-extract\syslinux\"

Remaster the iso:
If you don't know how to do it, see viewtopic.php?t=1343.

I downloaded "fdubcd.igz", it contains 1 file -- "fdubcd.img" -- which contains "autorun.bat" and a "BIN" folder (I'm using 7-ZIP to extract).

the BIN folder contains "fdcch.bat", "lbacache.com", and "TICKLE.COM".

I don't see an updated copy of FreeDOS.

What am I overlooking here?
