UBCD50 has a newer version of isolinux (the bootloader of the CD), which maybe can solve your problem, if your problem is that you don't see the menu on the screen.
Yes, UBCD supports sata drives.

I first want to say what a nice laptop you have there...

I would check the bios to make sure there is support for DOS systems. I would enable everything that you can that makes it support dos including legacy usb support (not that this specifically matters but it couldnt hurt). Maybe just a bios option that is preventing you.

Try to boot UBCD50 beta again.
  • - After pressing Enter, when you see the text "Press [Enter) to boot the Ultimate Boot CD ..."
    - Press END
    - Press the UP ARROW 3 times
    - Press Enter
Let me know if this boots the freedos image.

If this doesn't work, try the following:
  • - When you see the text "Press [Enter) to boot the Ultimate Boot CD ...", don't press Enter, but type the following:

Code: Select all

reboot.c32
- Press Enter
- The PC should reboot now

If one of the methods given above work, the menu system of isolinux doesn't work on your notebook, but isolinux on its own does work.

Let me know which model your graphic card is.
