need help using registry editor to recover from vistas KSOD

That's "blacK Screen Of Death" for anyone who doesn't know 
Anyway, I burned a copy of the Ultimate Boot CD and got into the registry but now I'm completely lost on how to configure what I need to. I'm trying to follow this guide http://www.logicitc.com/blog/?p=102. But it's just confusing the hell out of me. Help?
