SATA hard drive diagnostic
Hey everyone, I was just wondering it there is a SATA hard drive diagnostic on the most recent UBCD. Last time I got the new version and tried, none of the HD diagnostic tests would even detect the SATA drive.

Yep. The is nothing wrong with the normal workings of the computer at all.Constance wrote:Hello ^^
Is it at least detected by the machine's BIOS itself ?
And by none I meant Salvation, the WD test (correct manufacturer for the drive), and the IBM/Hitachi test, which has worked perfectly well with other company's drives in the past.
I have an Asus S37S notebook, Santa Rosa, with Seagate 200GB SATA2 drive. In UBCD ver. 4.1.1 running Seatools for DOS reports same as you got: no HDD found. I notice this is ver. 1.09 (???or thereabouts) of Seatools. This may be pertinent: Using my Seatools for DOS CD ISO downloaded from Seagate, ver. 1.09 could not find the HDD either; their newer ver. 2.07 finds the HDD just fine. I suspect the Seatools in UBCD just needs updating. The same may be true of the WD tool. You might try WD for a newer version and go from there.
SATA hard drive diagnostic
Has this been addressed? I am running v4.11 and I have the same problem. BIOS sees the drive just fine, but none of the diagnostic tools or virus scanners see it.
Sata hard disk detected, but not working? my comp detects sata hard disk (its displayed in bios), but the hard disk is not working. i couldn't see the files stored in the hard disk. how to get my files back? i have installed win xp pro edition in my comp. actually it was detected till few days before, but suddenly it disappear from My Computer!
