crtdll.dll is corrupt

hi
Please can someone advise me what to do ?
I am re-installing windows xp service pack 2 from a cd - when copying files I am getting crtdll.dll is corrupt - and I cannot setup windows .
I have bought ubcd but how can i get this file from CD ????

Your CD that you are installing windows xp from is dirty...you will need to clean it. Nothing else will magically fix it...

I am thinking of buying Windows XP service pack 2 brand new - and then re-install it on my ACER laptop 5100 - Does anyonw know how i can find out if it is 32 bit or 64 bit machine ,.....
also can anyone forsee any problems - I believe this is my best bet - rather than buy a new laptop ???

Would be easier and cheaper to try to clean the disk...first...and if it still doesnt work. You may also want to see if a friend has a retail version and borrow theirs and use your serial key provided with your windows (a sticker of authenticity has a serial key on it) located on the back or top of your system, and install windows that way.
