Creating bootable floppies from UBCD (for disk wiping)

#1 Post by rouilj » Sat Aug 20, 2005 1:05 pm

Hello all:

It looks like the "Disk Image Writer" was removed from the 3.3 release
"until it can support IGZ format". So without that, does anybody have
directions on creating bootable disks for:

AutoClave
Active@ KillDisk Free Edition
Darik's Boot and Nuke
or
PC INSPECTOR e-maxx

to wipe an old system that doesn't have the ability to boot from cd?

Thanks.

If you have another PC at your dispoable, you can always decompress the image using gzip or equivalent (rename igz to img.gz, and do a gzip -d) to get the uncompressed img file. Then write out the img file to disk using rawrite or equivalent.
