Hey all,
First off thanks much for probably one of the most useful tools I've ever had the pleasure of using. Next to Knoppix this is my second most used tool! Simple question though, when working on laptops it becomes difficult to know which brand of HDD is installed and therefore which diagnostic to use. Is there a simple way to determine which brand HDD is installed without randomly trying them till they work? Thanks in advance

You should be able to tell from the BIOS id, when the machine boots, or by going into the BIOS and listing the IDE devices found.
For example, Western Digital hard drives id usually begins with "WDxxxxxxxx" and so on.

One of the system info utils on the UBCD might help too, like AIDA16, NSSI, PC-CONFIG or ASTRA.
