DOS FDISK & FORMAT

My hard drive failed and has to be replaced. I know
I'll have to partition and format the replacement
drive. UBCD will boot my PC. However, if I have
understood correctly, it includes facilities for
setting up a new hard drive from three
manufacturers: Maxtor, Seagate and Samsung. I'll be
getting the drive from HP.

I know how to use the old DOS programs FDISK and
FORMAT. Is there any way to add those files to UBCD?
If there is, how could I run them?

The FreeDOS clones of MS Fdisk and Format are on the FreeDOS boot disk, which you can run by selecting in the menu "DOS Boot Disks" then "FreeDOS Boot Disk"... so you can use them instead.

Anyway you may add customized boot disk images if you wish... i'm almost sure there is a tutorial about it somewhere around on this forum, I just could not find it back ;( ... well, someone else will probably give you the link soon ;)

If you're going to be installing Windows NT/2000/XP or greater you don't need to format beforehand, the setup program will handle it.
