I've tried downloading the Basic and the Full version as either the ZIP or self extracting EXE - all report invalid archive. Tried several(4) different mirror sites - same results.

Any suggestions?

May is uggest using a download manager like for FF you can add DownThemAll and it does a good job. Otherwise for IE I use FlashGet. FG is add supported with a banner and pop up but is very good at getting files and quickly. I have the problem you are having at work with using the normal download manager in IE or FF as it never works or quits without finishing notjust from here. I use DTA and it gets it everytime as I can restart the DL if it does indeed stop.
