Unable to extract UBCD image from zip

#1 Post by guitardude » Thu Jun 15, 2006 11:29 pm

Hi,

I downloaded the UBCD Full 3.4 zip file and I am using StartCom Linux ML 4, which is based on the RedHat / Fedora distributions. When I tried to extract it using gunzip, I got the error message "unknown suffix -- ignored" in the terminal window. I'm not a total newbie when it comes to Linux but I am at a loss for how to extract the iso from the zip file at this point. And Windows is not an option for the time being.

Any nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

try runing powerarchiver or winzip under wine or something.
you might also try 7zip if there's a linux version
also, mabye the self-extracting .exe will rin under wine?

i'm not terribly familiar with linux, so i cant give a whole lot of advice on the terminal - i'm still trying to remember how to switch drives!
