Boot Error 808002F9 on Dell Latitude

#1 Post by SamJam » Sun Dec 17, 2006 12:20 pm

Hi,

After creating and trying multiple CD's of v.3.4 with each failing to boot on my Dell Latitude CpX, I began looking for issues and searched on the error 808002F9 (the error I get each time I try to boot).

I find a couple of threads on this forum dating back to 2005 and a similar issue with v.3.3. Unfortunately, I could not find a solution or work around that was verified.

My Dell laptop system does not have a floppy. I'm probably willing to go back to v.3.2 (last version that works with this system?) but I can't find the download for the old version. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Me again...

I was able to find v.3.2 on an old mirror site. It did the trick and boots on my laptop!! For what I'm doing, this version is good enough. If anyone figures out how to make the newer version 3.4 compatible with Dell Latitude CpX please let me know. Everything I read indicates it has to do with the CD Shell somehow but I'm not technical enough to mess around with it.

Thanks,
Sam
