Boot.ini

Hi all,
This CD looks gorgeous and when I read that some people are selling the product for their own and even modified so that the link to the website does not appear, this is crazy.

I am trying to use the CD to modify the boot.ini of my computer. All others boot CD I had does not allowed me to edit and modify the boot.ini file (I can save under an other name but then I cannot delete the original one).

Can this ultimate boot CD help me on this particular task?

Thanks for your help.

Well then load for example the FreeDOS boot disk and use Edit.

Thanks, I will try tonight. Can you confirm that it is on the ultimate Cd (UBCD40.exe)? Where is it exactly? I have seen that the menu is deep so that you can be lost quickly.

Yeah it is on UBCD 4.x, in "DOS/Linux Boot Disks" , then "DOS Boot Disks" and finally "FreeDOS Boot Disk V3.40".

Note that this "Edit" program doesn't exactly work like the classic MS-DOS Editor ... you'll certainly need to have a look at the help (F1).

You are talking about the boot.ini under the root directory, yes?
Why not use good o notpad. You have to un-check the read only
Attribute. That's why you have to save to another name.

Why do this in dos, do it under windows.

Maybe because Windows won't boot up due to something misconfigured in that file ? ^^
