In order to a scanner to be effective, they need read/modify access to two tricky components: NTFS (usually) and registry enumeration. Support for BOTH of these is limited or non- existent in DOS and linux apps. To this end, it's not a surprise a SW scanner hasn't been written (limited market, hard to implement, useful only in a CD boot environment). Your best bet for this is UBCDWin, which you can combine with UBCD if you like. Even then, there may be issues relating to scanning all registry keys. Check out their forums where such issues have been discussed extensively.
